I Am Enough
This is my legacy, and I’ve left no stone un-turned." - Jody
I Am Enough by Jody Lynne Jackman

This book was written for each and every cancer patient just getting diagnosed, so they have a place to turn to for real, practical and frank advice from someone who has walked the walk. It’s also for all of their family members and close friends so they don’t feel so afraid about what to say, or not say to their sick loved one. Fear is a no-win situation for loved ones; shutting down communication because of being scared of saying the wrong thing is more common than I could have ever predicted … more common and more terribly hurtful. Sometimes I would notice a frightened friend or relative actively trying to do things to help, coinciding with not wanting to talk. Their heart was in the right place, and maybe if they had read a book like this one, everyone would have felt more comfortable.
…
Allow me to guide you through the chain of events that led me to the title of my book, “I Am Enough,” and the creation of my Jody Lynne Jackman Foundation for teaching, educating, and learning about, and advocating and legislating for, the breast cancer susceptibility gene (BRCA gene). Everyone needs a plan of attack. This book is for women with ovarian cancer who are mostly between about 35 to 60, and their children; this book includes direction on how to be proactive when your genes predispose you to certain diseases.
In addition to all of the frank advice and observations about dealing with cancer, it was important to me to share who I was before I was sick, and how I changed while being sick, so you can glean what you will and know that it’s OK to transform with grace.
This is my legacy, and I’ve left no stone un-turned.
