We are not put on this earth for ourselves, but are placed here for each other. If you are there always for others, then in time of need, someone will be there for you.”

History

About the Jody Lynne Jackman Foundation

In September 2015, Jody Lynne Jackman was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. From that day forward, she became a true warrior—determined not only to fight the disease but also to leave a lasting impact on others facing similar battles. With strength and generosity as her guiding forces, Jody set out on a journey to learn everything she could about ovarian cancer and the BRCA gene mutation that contributes to it.

Jody embraced every possible treatment—chemo, experimental drugs, and cutting-edge therapies—with the hope of overcoming the illness. But as time passed, she recognized that the greatest gift she could give was not just her fight but the legacy she would leave for others. She dedicated herself to establishing a foundation that would provide critical BRCA gene testing for those in need—allowing people to gain the knowledge to either prepare for or prevent the disease.

On Christmas Eve 2018, Jody peacefully passed away, comforted by the knowledge that her dream of helping others would live on. On March 4, 2021, the Jody Lynne Jackman Foundation officially became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, committed to providing access to BRCA testing for individuals who need it most.

Mission

Jody’s Journey and Legacy
Throughout her battle, Jody remained determined to share her personal experience, knowing it could help others navigating the challenges of a cancer diagnosis. Her memoir, I Am Enough, offers insights into her journey—from diagnosis to treatment and, ultimately, to accepting the importance of living life fully, no matter the time remaining. The book serves as a source of comfort and knowledge for cancer patients, their loved ones, and their support systems. We strive to create a safe and supportive community for all those impacted by BRCA-related issues, offering resources, guidance, and solidarity for warriors and their families alike.
