- Caringbridge – If you’ve been diagnosed with cancer, you don’t need to go through your journey alone. Support groups can be beneficial for cancer patients to find others going through similar health journeys and to lean on professionals for information and support. If you don’t know where to start, we’ve got you covered. We share some helpful tips on where to find the right support group for your health journey.
- Can Care – Whether you or a loved one is facing a cancer diagnosis, CanCare is here to help! CanCare can connect you with a trained cancer survivor or cancer caregiver volunteer to listen, provide relatable experience, and offer empathy, encouragement, and guidance through your cancer journey.
- beBRCAware – You don’t have to deal with cancer on your own. Reach out and ask others for support.
- FORCE – Local Support – Whether you have been diagnosed with cancer, just learned about your hereditary cancer risk or have known about it for many years, trained FORCE volunteers are available to offer confidential support.
- BASSER Center for BRCA – Individuals & families facing hereditary cancer and cancer risk have unique informational and support needs. There are many organizations that provide information and support programming, including support groups and peer-to-peer matching, for specific types of cancers or diagnoses.
- American Cancer Society – The American Cancer Society offers programs and services to help you during and after cancer treatment. Below are some of the resources we provide. We can also help you find other free or low-cost resources available.
There are also support groups on social media pages such as Facebook, community message forums, and other social media apps. We encourage you to do research on the social media groups before you get involved with them and share any personal information with them.
